Pakistan was a novel experience in the history of Islam: Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad: 14, August 2011.The Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, in his message of felicitations on the 64th birth anniversary of Pakistan to the people and the Government of Pakistan has emphasized upon the importance of reviving the ideal spirit of love, unity and determination to defeat malicious intentions of enemies under different garbs within and without.
He said Pakistan was the result of a historical democratic struggle by an overwhelming majority of the Indian Muslims many of whom knew that would not form a geographical part of the new emerging state. He said with the help of Allah it was the wisdom and velour of Quad-i-Azam that an impossible thing became possible in the history of Islam. He said the founder of Pakistan believed in and worked for democracy, justice and rule of law throughout his political life.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said, “It is the time of remembering, paying tribute to, and following the foot-steps of the great thinkers and leaders such as Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Ali Brothers, Molvi Fazal-ul Haq who kindled flames of freedom and unity among Muslims from Bengal to Khyber. He eulogized their efforts and admired the times and works of those great sons and luminaries of the 20th century India saying that without returning back to thoughts and minds the nation could not overcome the present moral, political and economic crisis. Equally deserve tribute millions of those loving people who laid down their lives for Pakistan or forsook their ancestral homes and hearths and migrated to their new destination without looking back, on foot, on donkeys, on bull-carts and in trains.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani recalled that India also became free but had the leadership of India given up hate and anger and not invaded  and annexed Jammu and Kashmir the conditions would have been different. Today, both the free states are celebrating their independence, but Kashmir is groaning under worst military adventurism and state terrorism owing to India’s intransigence and expansionism, forcing the people of Kashmir to continue their fight for freedom. He expressed serious concern over the current situation warning that despite independence of Pakistan and India, the region would not feel free of animosity, hunger, disease and upper- class exploitation, without granting the right of self-determination to the 13 million people of Jammu and Kashmir.
